No Plan B
by Dave Quintana - Servants of the Word
Jesus arrived to heaven and was received by the angel Gabriel.
"Master, you must have suffered much for the people down below".
"Yes", Jesus replied.
"And do they know how much you loved them and what you did for them?"
"Oh no, not yet", Jesus replied. "Only a few people in Palestine know so far."
"Then what have you done so that all the people will learn of the great love you have for them?"
"Well, I have asked Peter, John, James and a few others to speak of me and my love. And this is how others will know of me—through them. And then those others will speak of me to more people still until the news of me reaches to the end of the earth."
"Yes", Gabriel replied, "but what happens if Peter and John get discouraged? Or what if they forget? Or what if people in the 20th or 21st century get very busy and don't speak of you? What happens then? Do you have other plans?"
"No. I have no other plans, Gabriel. I rely upon them."
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Mt 28:18-20 ESV
